What Gets Written Here

Small Things, Mostly

A monastery does not generate news every week, and it should not have to. What it has instead is an ordinary life worth paying attention to: schoolbooks arriving, a health check in the courtyard, the kitchen at four in the morning, a pilgrimage taken with name badges on yellow lanyards.

Daily Rhythms is for those. Each one is small. Together they are the most accurate account of the place available.

And the Longer Pieces

Alongside them: events and ceremonies as the year turns, old teaching stories retold for the life people actually lead, and reflections on where Buddhist thought meets ordinary difficulty.

The Teachings section will carry the doctrinal material itself — the texts the monks spend two decades on — when the monastery decides what it wants to publish there.
